Cue Tip
French Le Pro hard tip standard
Ferrule
made of proprietary material, capped and threaded onto the shaft,
exceptionally durable
Shaft
made of hard rock maple, standard pro taper (12" to 14"), shaft diameter
range of 12mm to 13mm standard
Joint
six joint styles available, type of joint affects the "play" or "hit" of
the cue, joint collar materials include stainless steel and high-impact
plastic, may also choose a true wood-to-wood joint with no collars,
quick-release pin standard on all models
Forearm
often the most decorated part of the cue, traditional cue designs have
points in the forearm, most common forearm material is bird's-eye maple,
other woods may include goncalo alves, rosewood, or ebony
Points and Inlays
may be made of bird's-eye maple, goncalo alves, rosewood, ebony,
cocobolo, bacote, vermillion, plastic, pearl, and exotic materials such
as ivory, malachite, or turquoise.
Wrap
also referred to as the handle or grip, hard-pressed Irish linen. Viking
offers a choice of 27 different linens, leather wrap is also available,
most models can also be made without a wrap or with a finish over the
wrap
Sleeve
usually decorated to match the forearm, consists of the same wood or
materials found in the forearm
Butt Cap
protects the butt sleeve from damage, typical location for the Viking
logo and engraving
Bumper
protects the butt of the cue from damage, remove the bumper to access
the weight bolt cavity of the cue
Weight
18oz. to 21oz. standard, adjustable weight bolt system allows for easy
weight changes
Length
58" standard length of overall cue, shaft and butt are equal in length
